How to print a page at the right size
A few settings make every page come out clean.
Use US Letter
All pages are made for US Letter paper, 8.5 by 11 inches. In the print window choose Letter as the paper size and keep scale at 100 percent, or choose “Fit to page” if your printer cuts off the edges.
Margins
Pages include a half-inch margin. Choose “Default” margins in your browser. Turn off headers and footers so the page title and web address do not print on the sheet.
Print button or PDF
The Print button prints just the page, without the menu or footer. The PDF is the same sheet as a file you can save, share with a class or print later. Worksheets that have answers include the answer page as page 2 of the PDF.
Paper and tools
- Standard copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils.
- Use heavier paper if you plan to use markers or watercolor pencils.
- Fine-line pages, such as detailed mandalas, suit sharp pencils or thin pens.
Printing for a class
Open the PDF and print the number of copies you need. Single-sided printing keeps marker ink from showing through. Pages may be copied for your own classroom. Please do not republish them online or sell them.
Black and white
Coloring pages use black outlines only and print well on any black-and-white printer. Color-by-number pages show color swatches in the key; the color names are written under each swatch.
